the Brontë sisters

I have very few talents and photography isn’t one of them.  But I wanted to post these pictures of a box of lovely note cards with quotes from the Brontë sisters works.  It is no secret that Charlotte Brontë is one of my very favorites.  I loved Jane Eyre and Villette.  Emily Brontë’s Stars is a poem I just love.  Wuthering Heights, though, is not something I’m crazy about.  There is more that I have yet to read.  And I will get to them when I can.  The whole family is just a mystery and that makes their novels all the more inviting.  Charlotte writes beautifully, though a bit melancholy, but it is part of her and her writing.  She makes you feel as much as admire her as you read her work.

A friend, who knew my admiration for the Brontës, just came home from the U. S. and gave me this box of note cards.  After I don’t know how many years of correspondence, I finally met her last January 25 and we had coffee and we talked like we’ve been seeing each other for years.  She was amazing.  The box of note cards was not the only thing I got from her that day.  She got me a Bible too, which is now part of my reading resolution this year.

The cards are lovely.  I didn’t do them much justice with my below average photo-taking abilities, but never mind that.  I love them.  Thanks, Ms. Ypille!
